Aluminum Cases

Aluminum Brief Cases/Attaché Cases, Aluminum Tool Chests, Aluminum Storage Chests

Philly Case offers tough aluminum cases to safely transport items. Aluminum cases are lightweight but strong, made of 100% aluminum, tough construction and heavy-duty hardware.

Aluminum Cases

Aluminum is a structural material that is both lightweight and strong, making it an excellent material for cases. Aluminum is about one-third the weight of steel. Unlike synthetic/plastic materials, aluminum does not require ribs, gussets and/or bosses in the case structure for strength. The aluminum itself is strong, so an aluminum case is smaller, lighter and stronger than alternatives.

Other advantages and benefits of aluminum cases include:

  • Aluminum’s remarkably high strength-to-weight ratio exceeds virtually all other available case materials
  • Aluminum is durable, resistant to impact damage, and well suited for applications where durability and performance are important requirements
  • Aluminum is resistant to corrosion and attack by most chemicals, dampens electromagnetic waves, and is an excellent choice for specialty case applications
  • Aluminum is 100% recyclable

Aluminum Case Types and Uses

Aluminum cases can be used as briefcases, transit cases and storage cases for small or large items. Below is a summary of the three types of aluminum cases offered by Philly Case: attaché cases, tool chest cases and storage chest cases.

Aluminum Briefcases / Attaché Type Aluminum Case

The classic attaché design is produced in sizes for small, medium and large carry case needs. These attractive aluminum briefcases have shells constructed in 0.40 or 0.50 aluminum sheet, providing the ultimate in strength and durability, while keeping weight to a minimum. The riveted aluminum construction was modeled on aircraft construction. These aluminum attaché cases will provide many years of worry-free service. Features include:

Aluminum Attache Case
  • .040" aluminum shell standard thickness
  • Riveted construction using nickel plated steel rivets on 1" centers
  • Tongue-and-groove design along the entire joining edge for precise cover-to-bottom alignment
  • Tubular steel front handle or black plastic handle on small case models AC154, AC156 and AC184
  • Continuous full-length piano hinge for enhanced case rigidity and maintenance-free operation (models AC154, AC156 and AC184 have plated steel hinges)
  • Steel reinforcement at all case corners
  • Manufactured in America with aluminum that was melted, rolled and processed in the United States

Aluminum Storage Chests

The aluminum storage cases offer many of the features of the large tool chests but in a more compact size. Constructed from 0.050" aluminum sheet, all corners and seams are pulse MIG welded for the ultimate in strength and durability. A ½" flange surrounds the case opening to provide solid dimensional stability and a fully overlapping lid with a neoprene gasket to provide a weather resistant seal.   A full length continuous hinge attaches the lid to the body with heavy duty locking draw latches.  This design provides one of the lightest weight per volume storage solutions in the industry while reaping the tough and durable benefits of its solid all-aluminum construction.

Features include:

Aluminum Storage Chest, Aluminum Storage Cases
  • .050" aluminum shell standard thickness
  • All-welded construction with continuous welded seams and corners
  • Full overlap design with cover overlapping case (1") on all four flanged sides

About Aluminum Cases from Philly Case

Philly Case is a leader for all types of aluminum cases. Many cases are advertised as aluminum cases, but many aren’t. Inferior cases are simply combinations of plastic and wood buttressed by aluminum. These cases are finished to look like an aluminum case, they are actually built with a combination of glue, rivets, nails and tacks. They simply can’t stack up to a SOLID all-metal case in terms of strength, durability or even weight. An aluminum case purchased from Philly Case is a real aluminum case.
